TV Coverage
Television coverage for football was introduced 1957, however it wasn't received well by the VFL, as the idea of sitting at home and watching was more favored than going to the game, as a result reduced crowds. Coverage of live games weren't allowed in 1960, as a replacement replays were instead shown.
In 1960's however the leagues mood towards television was much more positive and football matches are still shown on T.V to this day. People were now able to watch their favourite highlights in games and was popular amongst former players who took up jobs as commentators. Games on channel 7 have now become one of the most watched things on TV right now
